ClosedBritish holidaymakers trapped in stations across the South of France were among those astounded by the announcement.
The delays occurred after a high-speed TGV travelling from Montpellier to Paris hit a truck full of hair cleaner at a level crossing in Lunel-Viel at around 12.30pm.
Nobody was injured, but gallons of shampoo poured across the line, meaning nothing could move until a mass clean-up operation was finished.
A spokesman for SNCF, France's national rail operator, said: "The shampoo made the line slippery and extremely difficult for trains.
"Some 20 inter-city services were delayed and this affected some 3000 passengers who were delayed until around 5.30 in the afternoon."
French high speed trains are packed with Brits in July, many travelling to and from the Riviera resorts.
Most are used to bizarre excuses from train companies at home, which have
included "the wrong type of snow" and "excessive heat on the

ClosedYou would be hard-pressed to find anyone who does not associate the Christmas holiday with the twinkling, nostalgic glow of fairy lights. Since the advent of electricity, decoration with light has been an important part of the holiday season. Major metropolises and small towns alike string party lights hither and yon to help spread the cheer of the season.
Few cities decorate to the extent of New York City. Famed department stores such as Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue are renowned for their annual holiday window displays while the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza never fails to make international news. South St. Seaport and Bryant Plaza are just a few of the many public areas in the Big Apple which receive the holiday lighting treatment. Every December tour companies feature guided bus tours throughout Manhattan to visit the twinkling lights installed each year.
You may be surprised to learn that Tokyo, Japan rivals New York City in the vastness and variety of its holiday lighting decorations. While primarily a Buddhist country Japan has a romantic attachment to the Christmas holiday. The famed Ginza street of neon grows doubly bright w...

ClosedRick Ross
Teflon Don
(Def Jam)
Beats: XXL
Lyrics: XL
Originality: L
Teflon Don, indeed. In the face of the criticism involving his life before rap, Miami’s Rick Ross still manages to emit an untouchable aura. Credit his string of three No. 1 albums, beginning with his 2006 debut, Port of Miami, then 2008’s Trilla and last year’s Deeper Than Rap. If not that, then take into account his high-powered feature verses alongside Waka Flocka Flame (“O Let’s Do It [Remix]”), DJ Khaled (“All I Do Is Win”) and his Dream Team cohort P. Diddy (“Angels” and “Hello Good Morning”). While his rock-solid catalog should vanquish any doubt, the Bawse looks to cement his musical gangsta on his fourth Def Jam album.
Ricky Rozay shines bright on the tongue-in-cheek “I’m Not a Star.” Oozing a kingpin’s confidence, Ross proves his haters wrong, triumphantly spitting, “I’m not a star? Somebody lied/I spent a milli on the car, it come alive.” ...

ClosedThen came a sudden change, a tropical depression.
Now Demps, Williams and Hornets President Hugh Weber will be sitting down with Chris Paul on Monday.
Paul will tell them why he wants to be traded, maybe to the New York Knicks or to the Orlando Magic or to the Portland Trail Blazers or to the Dallas Mavericks.
“I want to win now,” Paul will say, according to the script LeBron James has written for his good friend. “I have no chance to win a ring with the Hornets.”
And what will the Hornets say?
I’m hoping they’ll say: “Chris, we don’t want to trade you. You’re the heart of this franchise. You know enough about the NBA to know a team’s fortunes can change in the blink of an eye. Take last year. You got hurt. You missed 37 games. Think how competitive the team would have been if that hadn’t happened. Sure, we got to improve. But give the new GM a chance. Dell Demps hasn’t gone to work yet.”
Remember, this is not a LeBron scenario.
LeBron was a free agent.
Paul has two years remaining on a contract that will pay him “max money,” a shade...

O/s is 5.0.0.654; device NOT loaded down with programs, only have "emobistudio" MemoryupPro, NetworkAcc latest versons and Poynt and have had them for a while. Always 'close' programs when done, but the 'egg timer' w/second hand icon (is this something to do with freeing memory or?) comes on alot and the screen freezes until it is done, many times in sucession and for several seconds. Under ' browser options' I keep the 'content cache' cleared on a frequent basis. May come on and off for awhile and more noticably while surfing on the internet. A 'batt pull' solves the problems for 2-3 days and then the process starts again. Under 'status' File free shows nearly a meg of ram free and MemoryupPro shows just over 54meg of memory used and just over 200 free memory. I know that the 'two memories' are different (JVM, etc) but it seems I have a lot of both memory available. Very annoying having to wait....
Can anyone explain to me what is going on and offer some suggestions. Sure appreciate it.

ClosedSo, yeah. It's been a while since I last posted a legitimate post on the blog. It's been kind of a strange, convoluted 3 years. For those of you who care, here's a quick update. I returned from Russia in late 2007 planning to set up shop in a small law firm in Washington, D.C. Before leaving Moscow, I had sent a resume for a job opening on the Senate Judiciary Committee. I had no idea what Senator was hiring, other than the vague notion of a "Senior Democratic Senator." So I fired off a resume, packed my stuff up in Russia, made the trip back and started work at the firm. To tell you the truth, I kind of forgot about applying for the job in the Senate. In December 2007, I got an email asking me if I wanted to interview for the position, as counsel to Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). I did, and somewhat amazingly, got the job. So for about a year and half, I worked as Counsel and then Senior Counsel to Senator Feinstein on the Judiciary Committee. My primary issues were national security and criminal law -- think the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center, the torture debate, federal c...
